Galapagos are an archipelago of islands having a surface of 7882 square kilometers. The distances between the islands are relatively big, sometimes from 8 to 10 hours of navigation. The best way to discover the natural miracles of Galápagos is through a cruise, the boat being used as means of transportation to allow to join the naturalist visit sites.
The Cruises
Cruises are always 5 or 8 days. Each boat has fixed days out: on Sunday, Wednesday, etc,... and their itineraries are also fixed and imposed by the National Park administration.
All the cruises include :
• A bilingual Spanish-English naturalist guide.
• All the meals.
• Accommodation in double cabin with private bathroom.
• All the visits according with itinerary. All the cruises always go ashore to make two different visits a day.

Attention : Cruises are usually booked several months in advance and most of the boats are sold-out during the high season, it's to say from June till September and from November till January.

•   Cruises with Onshore Naturalist Visits of the Islands and Scuba Diving
Since July 2007, the naturalist cruises (visit of the land sites) with option for scuba diving are totally and definitively prohibited.

•   Live Aboard Diving Cruises : Wolf and Darwin Islands
Wolf and Darwin are the farthest north western islands of the archipelago of Galapagos. These islands are outside the tourist roads and moreover, they are forbidden of visits.
Diving live aboard cruises (because scuba diving, yes, is authorized) are organized 2 or 3 times a year, but only by some north american ships. No boat, no Ecuadorian operator is authorized to operate diving cruises. If your are a diver and want to dive at Wolf and darwin the only possibility is to ask in the United States.
